LANG/WALTERS RESIDENCE, MENDOCINO, CA
This was a remodel to enlarge the living space. The living room of the existing house was small and used mostly for circulation. The solution was to allow it to remain circulation and to add an entirely new living area, using the same exposed beam system. The exterior of the addition was designed to blend gently with the existing house.
Both artificial and natural lighting can be used for a variety of moods and functions, including soft but dramatic effects. Note the difference of night and day photographs.
